The Red Shirt Art Project was created to provide a source of economic development for the artists and crafts people of the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Beginning with the Village of Red Shirt, this Project provides a wider market for crafts created by the Northern Plains Indians.

100% of the sales price of crafts is returned to the artist, providing greater value for their work, and supporting artists and crafts people to pursue their crafts full-time. Additional costs of the Project are supported through the sale of Red Shirt Art Project logo products, including T-shirts, Tote Bags, and Coffee Mugs.

The Red Shirt Art Project is supported by churches in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, including Christ Episcopal Church, Redondo Beach, St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Upland, and St. Mark's-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church, Los Olivos. If your church or ECW group is interested in hosting a sale at your location, please contact Christine Budzowski for additional information.
